Copper Steeple

A hail storm played havoc with this copper steeple in Nashville, TN. The copper was originally installed in 1962 when the new auditorium was constructed. Every piece had to be removed and new 16 oz. copper installed. The old material came off rather easily since it was only nailed on. Section by section, I would go up around 12 to 15 feet and remove the panels from the top down. Then I fabricated the new pieces directly on site inside my travel shop. The new installation was accomplished by using stainless steel screws and hidden cleats on each panel. Once to the top at 135 feet all that was left to do was paint the cross. The perfect finish to a job well done.

Painted Aluminum Steeple

The White metal steeple is in Jackson, MS. When I got there I found nothing but painted plywood around the base. Once I removed the railings, that were literally hanging off by two feet I removed the damaged copper flat roofs and replaced both those with new copper. I installed new .032 painted aluminum over all the surfaces, fabricated new trim to cover window area, fabricated new louver blades and installed over old wooden ones also fabricated new metal cornice and installed both bottom and top. The metal on the steeple was only trim coil quality, all was removed and new .032 aluminum was installed with new 30 lb.felt as underlayment. Once the railings were reworked and installed it looked like a new steeple had been ordered and installed but for a fraction of the cost.

Copper Fish Installation

Legacy Metals teamed up with Rustic Nail of Bowling Green, KY to create this 45′ long, 9′ high, custom copper fish. It includes custom fit panels of smooth, hand-hammered, and textured copper.

Castle

This castle is located 6 miles west of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It is the home of the Renaissance Festival that is held on the week-ends in May every year.
The copper roofs are of 16 ounce sheet copper with a double hem seam. The fleur-de-leis were added to the ridge for a decorative finish. The metal work completed by Legacy Metals has been featured on numerous websites, a magazine cover, and was even shown in Taylor Swift’s music video “Love Story.”

Octagon Cupola

The cupola is 24 inches from side to side. It is 48 inches tall cut to fit the roof system. It has a wood frame with one-half inch all thread rods that run through the round copper post to hold the top and the base together.

The copper dormers have a wood frame then the copper skin was applied. The dormers were built to fit the pitch of the roof in the shop, then was hauled to the site and positioned on the roof.

The home has 1 large finial and 2 smaller ones strategically placed on the roof to highlight the majestic design of the home.

6′ x 6′ Cupola
This magnificent [the clients own words] cupola is 6 foot by 6 foot square and is a total of 14 foot tall with the finial in place. It has a wood frame built in Legacy’s shop, then the copper was cut and formed to fit the frame with all corners soldered. Each louver was hand made then attached to the cupola.

Church Pieces
These ornamental pieces were fabricated from a photograph taken at the turn of the 20th century. They are 24 gauge galvanized steel with all seams soldered. The Alpha-Omega and the Flaming Cross emblems were hand made and placed on top of each piece. The ornamental pieces were then installed on the corners of the steeple tower on the historic church.

1950’s home
This 1950’s home is in Middle Tennessee it just received a new 24 gauge galvalum Snap-on roof system. The color is colonial red which actually matched the client’s window trim perfectly. The different pitches of the roof and the lines of the panels make a notable finish, which is architecturally pleasing and beautiful for the finish product.

2005 home
This beautiful home sits on 5 acres just outside Leipers Fork Tennessee. The roof system is a 24 gauge galvalum finish Snap-on panel. This, like all other of Legacy’s roofs, has hidden fasteners in the seams and the perimeter points of the roof system.
